July 1, 2017 Retirement is an exciting phase of life with unlimited opportunities for where we want to live. Unbound by the demands of choosing a location because of employment, we’ve begun the journey to find a new home. The east coast has been our home forever --well except for our brief stay in France – but with kids and grandkids on the west coast, it’s time for us to reduce the distance between us and them so we can visit more often/more easily. We’ve spent the past few days exploring neighborhoods around the city. To the east property is more reasonable but there are few trees. To the Northwest there are trees but property is precious. As seems to be the trend, bigger homes are built on smaller lots. We realize that we are spoiled with our modest home on an acre in CT. We’re discovering what we like and what we don’t. We took some time today to see a few sights. The Hopi Festival at the Museum was wonderful – thanks Kate – and we also enjoyed lunch at the Galaxy Restaurant on Route 66 complete with an amazing ballon lady. Off to Prescott tomorrow One of the campers asked how we had managed to cross the southern states without entering Arizona. Today, we’ve added one more state to our map along with more National Park/National Monument decals
